Fat Dissolving Injections

Your body, Only better

Treatment Info

In today’s society, we are continually striving to look and feel our best. Aqualyx™ has been developed to treat those stubborn areas of localized fat, which are resistant to diet and exercise

What is Aqualyx™ and how does Aqualyx work?

Aqualyx contains deoxycholate a secondary bile acid. Deoxycholate is found naturally in the human body where it emulsifies (liquefies) fat absorbed from the intestine, to aid digestion of ingested fat.

The fat-dissolving effect of this acid was utilised by Prof. Motolese, the inventor of Aqualyx™, who developed a synthetically manufactured variant. When injected into fatty tissue Aqualyx causes destruction of the fat cells which are then transported to the liver and excreted from the body via the kidneys.

Where can Aqualyx™ be used?

Aqualyx™ is used to dissolve stubborn areas of fat to help shape and contour your body.

Main Areas:

  1. Upper Arms
  2. Bra Bulge
  3. Stomach
  4. Hips (Love Handles)
  5. Outer Thighs (Saddle Bags)
  6. Under the Buttocks (Banana Folds)
  7. Inner Thighs
  8. Knee
  9. Chin, Jowls

What is the treatment like?

The solution is injected into the fat through a special ultra fine Aqualyx™ needle. Usually 2 injection points are required per area treated, with the amount of product varying according to the size of the area. Local anaesthetic is added to the solution before injection to improve patient comfort resulting in a virtually pain free treatment which takes approximately 30 minutes.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments required will vary according to volume of localized fat, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s reaction of the fat tissue. On average you should expect 3-5 treatments carried out at 3 weekly intervals. Small areas of localised fat e.g. chin/jowls may only require 1-2 treatments.

After the treatment

Immediately after the treatment you can return to your normal daily activities however you will experience slight itching, burning and tenderness in the treated area – this is a desired response to the treatment.

Over the next few days there may be redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated area. This is a normal reaction to the treatment and will resolve spontaneously in a few days. As with any injectable treatment minor bruising may occur.

How soon will I see my results?

Aqualyx is a very effective treatment and noticeable changes are normally seen a few weeks after the second treatment.

How long will the effect of the treatment last?

The treatment is permanent as the fat cells are destroyed. As the fatty acids are converted into energy, it is important that you keep a strict and healthy diet, and exercise regime during the treatment process. Aqualyx™ does not result in weight loss.

Is Aqualyx™ Safe ?

Aqualyx™ is very safe with full CE approval. Additional safety for both the patient and the physician is guaranteed by the fact that only doctors who have received special training are authorized to perform such treatments.

Is Aqualyx™ right for me?

If you are frustrated by the resistance of certain body areas to diet and exercise and you are healthy and seeking a low-pain solution to losing stubborn fat deposits, then Aqualyx™ could be your answer. Ideal candidates are typically at or near their ideal weight. Your doctor will assist you with your decision about potential areas for sculpting, anticipated results, and the recovery process.

Who is not suitable for the treatment
